What is a DisCo?
An Electricity Distribution Company (DisCo) is licensed to distribute electricity to the homes and businesses in its area. Jos Electricity is the DisCo for Plateau, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe.
Must I create an account before I can buy a token?
No. All you need is your meter number, email address, phone number and a debit card or bank transfer to pay.
I can't load my token
Make sure there is power supply in your area and on your phase, switch off generators and inverters, then key in the 20-digit token and press Enter. If it still fails, contact our 24-hour support on +234 201 330 6331 or support@paybeta.ng.
My meter rejected my token
The token may be for a different meter number, your meter may not be activated yet, or your tariff index may have changed. Contact our support team and we'll help you sort it out.
Why do I have debt on my meter?
New meters often carry the cost of free units as debt, debt from an old analogue or postpaid account can move to a new prepaid meter, or it may be a penalty from your DisCo. Your DisCo can explain the details.
I bought a token for the wrong meter number. Can it be transferred?
No. A token is generated for one meter number and only works on that meter. Contact your DisCo for any reconciliation.
I paid but haven't received my token
This rarely happens. Contact us at support.paybeta.ng and we'll check the status of your payment.
